Situated on the cliff overlooking the entrance into the Wyldern Chasm this bustling town is full of adventurers, merchants, blacksmiths, priests, and alchemists of all stripes. The town is split into three quarters with the fourth quarter being the Broken Horn Keep itself, the fortified tower which Lord Darsane rules from.
In the Merchants Quarter one can find nearly anything if they know where to look and have the right license.
Personal Arms This license grants access to use whatever arms and armors are brought into the city. It’s cost is based on current equipment and confers the right to sell equipment to major shops.
Advanced License This license is made available only to individuals who have demonstrated cunning, resourcefulness, and restraint. It allows individuals to purchase equipment up to a rank of “Rare”.
Hunter’s License This license, personally handed out by Lord Darsane, confers the right to purchase and wield any equipment excluding “Artifact” rank equipment.
Darsane’s Token This token, given only to a small handful of individuals hand selected from the Hunter’s elites, confers to right to request the usage of “Artifact” rank equipment. There are currently only three individuals with a license of this level and each are guards of the city.
There are three major players in the Merchants Quarter:
Jared the Bard A long famous individual who made his fortune in the Wyldern and set up a shop selling the trinkets and baubles he found. He now deals in various magical armaments though a license is required to purchase his more powerful equipment. It is rumored he also has ties to the local Blackmarket, Thieves guild, and may be the Blackhand of Darsane, the Lord’s personal assassin. His shop is know as the “Waiting Hand”.
Vincent of Maltier A Lord in his own right as well as the leader of the Knights of Bahamut Vincent also holds the honor of being the foremost Cleric of Bahamut. After completing many journeys through the Wyldern in search of the spawn of Tiamat, Vincent saw the struggles of the commoners in Dragon Roost as well as the need for adequate defenses should the need arise. With the blessings of Lord Darsane Vincent established the Church of the Platinum Heart, a church of Bahamut dedicated to aiding the weak and downtrodden of Dragon Roost instead of focusing on the war against the enemy. With the church established a stream of new clerics and priests made their way to Dragon Roost leading to an influx of healing potions. Of these half are sent to the guardsman, and the other half are given to Vincent’s nephew to sell at his shop, “Waters of Light”.
Mister Konist A relatively new individual in town, the man only know as Mister Konist is something of an enigma. Possessing one of everything and somehow having secured an Elite Merchant license, this red robed man seems to know everything that is going on in town before all else, something Jared hasn’t missed. Mister Konist is known among the adventurers as a last resort shop as though he has one of everything some of it is cursed and he seems to find it amusing to watch. His shop is known as “King’s Bounty” which people assume relates to the high cost of doing business.
